Prices as listed on 28 October 2026. Source

PoolTrac's price is low per pool and grows with your route: about $480 a year at 40 pools, $960 at 80, at the listed $1 per visited pool. Pool Calc Pro is $79.99 a year at any size. PoolTrac includes a client portal, QuickBooks and work orders that Pool Calc doesn't have.

Fast stops, one screen

Pool Calc puts readings, the dose plan, task chips, photos and notes on one screen, with "Same as last" for slow readings and the last three visits at the top. Done is final, and the report is ready to send.

Offline is the default

Pool Calc doesn't wait on a server. Every change is saved on the phone at once, and iCloud only mirrors it. There's no "updating" step when you reopen the app.

No account to set up

PoolTracPro's listing says not to download the app without a PoolTrac Pro account. Pool Calc starts with a pool; your clients and visits are in your own iCloud.

What PoolTrac Users Complain About

Paraphrased from public reviews. Each one links to where it was posted and gives the month it was written.

  • Slow, with too many questions. A tech servicing 70+ pools a week titled their June 2024 review "Feature packed app. Extremely slow" and said the app asks too many questions at each step (App Store review, June 2024).

Pool Calc approach: one stop screen with a number pad for readings and tap chips for tasks.

  • No offline mode, and pop-ups. A reviewer asked for offline use with later syncing and complained about connectivity pop-ups and "Updating Server Status" messages when reopening the app (App Store review, February 2026).

Pool Calc approach: everything works in airplane mode, and nothing is waiting on a server when you reopen the app.

When PoolTrac is the better choice

  • You have several users, or techs on Android or the web.
  • You want French or Spanish in the app.
  • Your route is small enough that $30 a month is your whole bill and you need the office features.
