For a solo tech, Pool Office Manager is $1,500 a year at its listed price ($125 × 12), before add-ons. Pool Calc Pro is $79.99 a year. Pool Office Manager includes an office side, invoicing and GPS tracking, which Pool Calc doesn't do.

The field side on its own

Pool Calc's stop screen holds the client, the address, access notes, the last three visits, readings, the dose plan with "Mark as added", task chips, photos and notes. Done saves the time on site and offers the report. It's built for the tech standing at the pool.

Reports that go out

Pool Calc builds the report on the phone as a PDF and sends it through the share sheet from your own number or email, so it doesn't wait on an upload. It's marked sent only when the share sheet says it went.

Keep your billing where it is

Pool Calc doesn't do invoicing. Bill in the tool you already use, and export visits, readings and chemicals as CSV, with chemical use and cost per client per month to bill chemicals accurately.

What Pool Office Manager Users Complain About

Paraphrased from public reviews. Each one links to where it was posted and gives the month it was written.

  • The mobile app feels slow and dated. An April 2024 App Store reviewer praised the desktop software but called the mobile app "super clunky" and said promised updates hadn't arrived (App Store review, April 2024).

Pool Calc approach: the phone is the whole product, a native iPhone app with one screen per stop.

  • Reports don't upload from the field. A long-time user said reports take a long time to upload and that crews often can't submit them in the field (App Store review, May 2026).

Pool Calc approach: the report is a PDF made on the phone and sent from your own Messages or Mail. With no signal, Mail holds it in the Outbox until you're back in range.

  • Bugs during work. An April review said the app has potential but ongoing bugs make it frustrating on the job (App Store review, April 2026).

Pool Calc approach: every stop is saved on the device as you go, so an app restart resumes the unfinished stop.

When Pool Office Manager is the better choice

  • You want invoicing, Stripe payments and QuickBooks Online in the same system.
  • You want inventory managed across the company.
  • You want free data migration and onboarding, which its pricing page includes.
